On arrival in Siem Reap and after visa formalities, you will meet your local guide in the arrivals area holding a name-board who will then transfer you to the hotel for assistance with check-in. This afternoon, explore Khmer temples from the early Angkorian period with a tour of the Rolous group of temples including Prasat Bakong, Preah Ko, and Lo Lei. Proceed to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng, and as the end of the day approaches, climb the imposing remains for a truly memorable sunset.
After breakfast visit Pre Rup and the East Mebon on route to the exquisite Banteay Srey. Return to Siem Reap for lunch. In the afternoon visit the majestic Angkor Wat built between 1112 and 1152 by King Suryavarman II dedicated to Vishnu, the Hindu god of preservation.
This morning visit one of Angkor’s most fascinating ruins: Ta Prohm. After Ta Prohm head for Banteay Kdei and the nearby lake of Sras Srang. In the afternoon visit the Ancient City of Angkor Thom including the Bayon, the Terrace of Elephants and the Terrace of Leper Kings.
Today there is an optional boat trip on Tonle Sap, Asia’s largest inland lake, which swells to ten times its normal size during the wet season, or perhaps some last minute shopping before departing.
