The Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone was established as a dividing line between North and South Vietnam as a result of the First Indochina War. The boundary between these two zones was established at the Ben Hai River, which enters the East Sea at 17 degrees 0 minutes 54 seconds N latitude. The boundary followed the Ben Hai to its headwaters, about 55 km WSW, and thence to the Laotian border.

Pick you up from hotel and transfer to the Demilitarized Zone (180km).
Visit to Frame of the Church (Lavang holly land), La Vang Holy is a shrine located in Hai Lang district, Quang Tri Province. Christians believe that Mary shows flexibility in this area in 1798 and a church was erected near the three banyan tree, where the apparitions and this is an important place of pilgrimage of Catholics Vietnam. La Vang Holy was awarded by Vatican Holy is the Emirate Palace of La Vang Cathedral from 1961. And then visit Doc Mieu base: One part of an elaborate electronic system (McNamara’s wall) intended to prevent infiltration across the DMZ.
Arrive DMZ; stop to visit Ben Hai River and Hien Luong Bridge, Hien Luong Bridge was first built by French sappers in 1950 and under the Geneva Agreement on Vietnam signed in 1954, served as the border gates to both sides.
Have lunch at local restaurant.
Visit Tunnels of Vinh Moc and Museum of the tunnels, Vinh Moc Tunnels is well-known as an underground village constructed to avoid bombardments during the American War (1965-1966). The complex grew to include wells, kitchens, rooms for each family and spaces for healthcare. Today, for visitors' safety, the tunnels were restored with reinforced concrete and internal lightening.
Keep moving to the Rockpile, The Rockpile was a Marine outpost built on top of a huge outcropping. Though it's inaccessible, it's a prominent sight from the highway. And then is Dak Rong Bridge, it is midway along Highway 9, and is the starting point of Highway 15, one of the main branches of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which leads south to the A Shau valley and the infamous "Hamburger Hill". Though not entirely legitimate, there is a monument commemorating it as a point on the Ho Chi Minh Trail, (called Đường Trường Sơn in Vietnam), and Khe Sanh Combat Base, just east of the Lao border, was the site of a U.S. base which fell under attack in early 1968. The attack of the NVA on Khe Sanh was a diversion for the 1968 Tet Offensive in the south. The old airfield of red dirt still remains.
Take the bus back to Hue.
