Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will be met by your local guide in the arrivals area holding a name-board. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Experience a half day trip along the bustling Chao Phraya River and the quiet Klongs (canals) in a long tail boat enjoying scenes of life by water. A stop will be made at the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). Situated close to the Chao Phraya, Bangkok’s River of Kings, visit the Grand Palace. The Palace occupies nearly one square mile and is the former royal residence of the Chakri Kings and among the most popular of Bangkok’s attractions. Return to the hotel for the afternoon at your leisure. Tour does not operate on Sundays.
Visit the former capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya, situated approximately 75 kilometres north of Bangkok. The mixing of cultures in Ayutthaya began in the mid-16th century when ships from Ayutthaya plied the Asian seas, trading with neighbouring countries. Although the ancient villages of foreign traders lining the Chao Phraya riverbanks were abandoned, some remnants have survived to showcase the cities past glory. Your tour starts at the Summer Palace of the late King Rama V, commonly known as “Bang Pa-In”. You continue to the magnificent ruins of early splendour that Ayutthaya is most known for. We will pass or visit all the most impressive ruins of this World Heritage Site. We will return to Bangkok on a cruise down the Chao Phraya River on a comfortable, air-conditioned cruise ship, while enjoying a sumptuous buffet lunch on board.
Meet at your hotel after breakfast for transportation to the airport.
