Upon arrival in Hanoi, receive a warm welcome and then be escorted to the vehicle for your transportation to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure.
You will have a full day to explore Hanoi’s illustrious history. In the morning, see the imposing marble edifice housing the Ho Chi Minh mausoleum before moving onto his wooden stilt house and the One Pillar Pagoda. You will then explore the first university of Vietnam, the Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, hit the streets of Hanoi for a special street food tour with your guide. First, drive to a local market to learn about and taste some of the ingredients used in the local cuisine and to watch the buying and selling rituals of a Vietnamese market. Next, enjoy a Vietnamese coffee with the locals at one of Hanoi’s favorite cafes in the historic French Quarter. Enjoy lunch at a local café, and later take a cyclo (pedaled rickshaw) tour around the bustling Old Quarter.
Drive to Halong Bay and board a sailing junk for a cruise amongst the hundreds of islets of Halong Bay. Enjoy a seafood lunch and a swim (if weather permits) before visiting a grotto of gigantic stalactites and stalagmites. Drop anchor in the late evening for an overnight stay amongst the dramatic limestone peaks rising out of the sea.
You will spend the morning cruising through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Halong Bay before returning to the wharf area where you will meet your guide for transportation to the airport in Hanoi for your flight to Hue in Central Vietnam. On arrival in Hue, you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check-in.
This morning, your half day excursion gives you insight into the culture and the daily life of the locals in Hue. Traditional customs, the way of life, cooking traditions, and Hue’s specialties are just some of the things you will experience. Enjoy a local lunch with your host's family before an afternoon excursion of the city sites, including the Imperial Citadel, the Imperial Tomb of Emperor Tu Duc, and the bustling Dong Ba Market.
Drive along the coast via mountain passes to Hoi An with a stop en route at the photogenic village of Lang Co. Upon arrival in Hoi An, pay a visit to one of Hoi An’s famous lantern workshops and learn how to make one yourself before setting out on a walking tour to explore this World Heritage Site. Take a peaceful boat trip on the Thu Bon River and afterwards enjoy free time to further explore the old town.
This morning, you will be picked up and driven to the local fishing village near the mouth of the Thu Bon River. Walk through the fishing village and learn about the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families and their community. Board a boat and cruise the Cua Dai River getting a further glimpse into riverside life. In the afternoon, head out for a half-day tour to the My Son Temple Sanctuary in a remote jungle valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Depart Hoi An for your flight to the beachside town of Nha Trang. Upon arrival, enjoy Nha Trang’s turquoise waters and white sandy beaches with a boat cruise to offshore islands in Nha Trang Bay. Later, visit the city including the Po Nagar Cham Towers, the Dam Market, and the Nha Trang Stone Cathedral. Afterwards, transfer to the hotel for check-in into your oceanview room.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and the morning at your leisure. In the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, meet and transfer to your hotel and have some time at your leisure. In the late afternoon, enjoy a cyclo tour around city neighbourhoods followed by a walking tour of the central Ben Thanh night market.
In the morning you will visit the amazing Cu Chi Tunnels where Vietnamese guerrillas built a labyrinth of narrow tunnels as hideouts during the war. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon for a half-day tour of the city. Highlights include the Reunification Palace (photo stop), the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, Chinatown, the Binh Tay Market and either the Thien Hau Temple or the Quan Am Pagoda.
Enjoy a fast and scenic speedboat trip to explore the authentic region of the Mekong Delta that is not seen by most travelers. From the Saigon River the journey will give you a different image of bustling Ho Chi Minh City with cargo boats, shops and houses along the water. During your excursion, you will visit pagodas and lively local markets and villages. While in the Mekong Delta, before having lunch at a charitable school, we will have a chance to attend the midday mass in the Cao Dai Temple. Afterwards, enjoy the boat journey back to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to your hotel for the evening at your leisure.
