It’s all about style at the Shinta Mani Club. Hotel architect-designer Bill Bensley has created an eclectic and very chic boutique hotel that exudes peace and quiet. The entire property is carefully colour-coordinated in black, white, brown and orange tones. The polished concrete hallways are lined with large canvasses of contemporary Khmer art and there’s space for sculptures and antiques. Even the staff visually fit into the larger picture. The property is divided into two wings, one with a long and narrow pool surrounded by palm trees which gets little sun, but lends a palatial feel.
Service is prompt but never pushy. Besides the pool, a spa with four dedicated rooms offers aromatherapy massages, body wraps, body scrubs, hand and foot care and therapeutic facials. A small business centre also serves as a common room where guests who have checked out can wait for their onward transport, check email, watch movies or indulge in a book. The Shinta Mani prides itself on its foundation which finances a school and several other projects in Siem Reap province. A small percentage of the room price goes towards these causes.
